About the sensor

The Ocean Color Instrument (OCI) is PACE’s primary sensor. It measures the properties of light over portions of the electromagnetic spectrum and enables measurement of light at finer wavelength resolution than previous NASA satellite sensors. Read more about the OCI sensor at the PACE page on OCI.
